Next RaceWe race every other weekend. Next race is July 12th. The schedule is 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/23, 9/6 and 9/20. Sprints & Modifieds run every raceday along with 5 more classes. |

NewsJune 28th race was rained out. After 2 1/2 days of rain, the pits are slippery but will be okay in a few days. Next race is July 12th. Pits will open at 5:30, not 5 pm. Fan appreciation night is July 26th. Spectators will vote on their favorite driver from each of our 7 classes. Then those 7 class favorite's totals will be compared, with the overall track favorite receiving $100 and a trophy or plaque. In case of a tie for track favorite, the money will be split and each will receive a trophy/plaque. Spectators can also get autographs from their favorite drivers at intermission. A Demo Derby is tenative for August. MEET THE WINNERS: (new section) June 14th winners: Sport Mod- Kenneth Graves (3 wins in a row) started racing karts at age 6 & cars at 12- winning many championships. Switched to Sport Mod at age 12, at age 14 finished 7th nationally in IMCA points, at age 15 finished 3rd in nation (IMCA) and is currently 3rd nationally. Hobby Stock- John Ross, from Odessa, is 16 years old. His is a 5 time WTKA champion. In 2007 he was 3rd in points at Champion Speedway. His sponsors are Whitaker Electric, Fitz Equipment, and T&R Machine. This is his 2nd win in a row and he now leads in points. The Street Stock winner & current points leader is Tony Fisher from Midland, age 34. He works in sales & says he is a rookie. His pit crew is Danny Fisher & James "Herb" Martin. The I Stock winner was Buck Dempsey, a service manager from Midland. Now 3rd in points, his sponsors are Goodson Service Co., David Pearce Upholstery, ESI, and Young Metal Buildings. His pit crew is Chris Pearce. We have no registration forms for Preston Peebles (Sprint, his 2nd win this season), Tanner Houston (stock 4- his 1st win here), and Bob Sikes (modified- 3 wins in a row). Racers, if you haven't turned in a registration form, please do so,so we can give you some credit. Our souvenir stand now carries Champion caps, IMCA caps, Hoosier caps, Champion decals, IMCA decals, Champion shirts, IMCA shirts, racing magazines, & more. Check it out. Jim Breeding Sr. was hurt in an ATV accident (spinal cord , ribs, etc.) & had an operation on his neck Tuesday, May 27. He is out of the hospital & undergoing physical therapy.
