NewsThe results of the May 3rd race (91 cars again) are posted in Racer Info. Points are posted also. The points leaders are Gary Gardenhire in Sprint, followed by Brandon Howle & Richard Myers who moved from 10th last race to 3rd this week. In Modified, the top 3 last week are still the top 3, but with some shuffling. Trent Crawford & Neal Flowers are tied for the points lead, with Philip Houston just 1 point back. I/Stock is led by Bubba Sikes again, with Mark Lord in 2nd, and Wesley Crouch 3rd. Sport Mod is a tie between Ritchy Richards & John Anderson. 1 point back is Chance McDaniel. The lead in Street Stock is Tony Fisher (moving up from 2nd last race) with Jack Miles & Ronny O'Neal tied for second. Hobby Stock is headed up by Blake Hoten. Warren Graves is 2nd (moving up from 9th), with Jesse Brown & John Ross deadlocked for 3rd. And in Stock 4, Hunter Russell leads Kendall Robinson & Tanner Houston, who are tied for 2nd. We got an FM transmitter working, but it was unplugged in error during the race (duh?) Tune to FM 104.1 to hear our announcer on your radio. We added another pay booth on the pit side to handle 2 lines, and that really sped things up. We replaced the 2 small spectator concession windows with 1 large counter/window and the concessions were much better this race. But as always, we have a lot more things that need improvement. Sign sponsors for this year are: RaceWright Coatings (sprints), Double H Bands (modified), Andrews Fab Shop (I-Stock), Young Building Systems (Sport Mod), Woody's Advanced Fabrication (Street Stock), Briley Trucking (Hobby Stock), & Hose Connection (Stock 4). Racer Info: Once you clear the gates, only Modified & Sprints will need to go to the 2 story building in the pits to get transponders (as you did last year.) Sprints will draw there for heat positions. Everyone else will already be entered, no action required. At 7 pm, cars will pack the track. Drivers meeting at 7:30 followed by hot laps. Races start about 8 pm. All pit pads are rented, so if a pad has a red number on it, it has been rented by that car, so don't park on it. Meet the crew: Jim Breeding prepares the track all week (what a job), Waylon Lacy is the race director & flagman, & Kenneth Imler is the tech man (beware). CAR SHOW had 16 really nice cars (see wecheat.com for photos). Winners were 88 (Hobby) Shiela Hunt, 77x (Street) Don Wilde, 97 (I/S) Buck Dempsey, 122 (Sport Mod) Tyler Young & 27 (Modified) Junior Robertson. Thanks for participating. Signs are now available at the racetrack. A 2x4 is $200. A 3x4 is $275. A 4x4 is $350. A 4x8 is $700. A 5x10 is $1000. All sizes include being on this website and announcements during the race. The 5x10 can be renewed the next year for $600. 4x8 signs can be renewed for $450 year. Call 664-8089. Thanks! |
